MARK McGINNIS

After working 10 years in advertising, design & corporate gigs in Dallas, Seattle and Chicago, I went off to explore and engage with the creative community independently.

I arrived in New York City in 2008, right at the beginning of the Great Recession and the Makers Movement. I started to work in editorial illustration for newspapers & magazines, freelanced for various design firms & explored new independent art + design work.

In 2010 I released a new print series, long in development, and began receiving invitations to

collaborate with other companies on new product development and branding work. I learned

about and participated in trade shows, exhibited at the Milan Design Festival for the first time and was invited to attend the London Design Festival.

There, I released new work for 3 consecutive years. That was the start of many collaborations over the years that included prints, textiles, ceramics and other accessories.

Today I’m still exploring and developing independent art + design work, and I collaborate with design companies on anything from exhibit, experiential to social media, strategy, product design and illustration.
